After their failure to qualify for this year’s International, Na’Vi decided to change the status of their roster to “inactive”, while trying to figure out how to proceed and amend the damage done to the organization with the lack of any significant results for the past few years.
Many of their fans questioned the future of Na’Vi’s Dota 2 division, in general, speculating that they might even decide to drop this game for the time being, while others decided to jump onto the Dendi hate train and express their opinion how he is the downfall of the team.
In a long blog post, Dendi shared his views on how the game has changed, how he has changed and what are his believes for how humble a person should be. In this post, however, he didn’t reveal anything about him staying with Na’Vi or parting ways with the organization. The big news about the roster change was announced in a video (find bellow) by Yevhen Zolotarov – the CEO of Natus Vincere himself.
In this video he talks in details of what the selection process was and the 3 options they had while building the new roster:
- Building it around a strong captain that can lead the team in battle.
- Building it around strong players that hopefully will mash up well together and split the role of a leader.
- Acquire a team already built.
After all options were considered, they decided to go for the following roster:
- Vladislav “Crystallize” Krystanek
- Idan “MagicaL” Vardanyan
- Evgeniy “Blizzy” Ree
- Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev
I am not going to lie – I am a super big fan of SoNNeikO and I hope that the new team will be a lot better than what we head previously. I know his ego is big and he is hard to work with according to some of his ex-teammates, but he is one of the best position 5 players out there. The last addition to the team should be announced no later than 10th of September when their bootcamp for the upcoming qualifiers starts.
